Step into the magic of the season with our Real Christmas Tree Maze, believed to be the only one of its kind in the UK! This year, it’s set to be our longest running Christmas Tree Maze ever, offering more festive fun for families and friends around North Essex.
Our Christmas Tree Maze stretches nearly half a kilometre, built from over 500 real Christmas trees and taking more than 160 hours to create.
Inside, you’ll find our festive trail, where children must help stop the mischievous Grumbles the Elf from sabotaging Christmas by unravelling the challenges he’s set along the way. Complete the trail and a special prize will be waiting for you at the end!

FAQ’s
How long will the maze take to complete?
It takes approximately 30 minutes complete the maze and festive trail.
What age is the festive trail suitable for?
Our festive trail includes two difficulty levels so everyone can join in the fun. The easy version is recommended for children aged 5 and under, while the hard version is ideal for ages 6 and above.
Are dogs allowed?
We do, however, have a designated seating area at the front of our Black Horse Café and in the dog friendly cabin, where dogs are welcome.
Do I need to book?
No booking is required, simply pay on entry at the Plant Centre
Why not make a day of it? Visit our Christmas Market for festive shopping, choose your perfect real Christmas tree to take home, followed by a delicious lunch at the Black Horse Café. There’s plenty to enjoy for the whole family.
